The traditional crown means an impression, a temporary, a laboratory and two or three weeks of being careful with it. CEREC scans the tooth, designs the restoration and mills it here in the office while you sit there. You walk out with the finished crown.

Recovery is medical before it is dental. We partner with the Park Nicollet Melrose Center, a few minutes from this office, and other treatment facilities.
Once you have had that care, we sit down and build a plan for what the acid took — the enamel, the color, the shape and length of the teeth, the sensitivity.
The finished result is built to hold its appearance and function for fifteen to twenty years and more. One patient described the change as happening across five or six visits.

Common questions
Yes. Our CEREC machine scans the prepared tooth, mills the restoration here in the office while you wait, and Dr. Bjorklund fits it the same visit. The whole appointment is about ninety minutes, and there is no temporary crown to look after in between.
Most dental insurance covers them on the same terms as a traditional crown. Plans differ, so call the office with your card and we will check your specific policy before you book.
Stomach acid from purging erodes enamel, which changes the color, shape and length of teeth and makes them painfully sensitive. Once you have had proper medical care — we partner with the Park Nicollet Melrose Center for that — Dr. Bjorklund can rebuild the smile so it protects and keeps its appearance for close to a lifetime.
It is one of the most common reasons people come here. Say so when you call. There are fluffy blankets, hot face towels, calming music, aromatherapy and nitrous oxide, and the pace is yours.
No, and Dr. Bjorklund will tell you when something is better done by a specialist. If you need a root canal, an endodontist who does two or three a day is the right person, not a dentist who has done a handful. Almost all of those specialists are in this same building.
That depends on what your mouth actually needs, so a number before an examination would be a guess. We accept most insurances, Visa, American Express, Discover and CareCredit, and you get the plan and the cost in writing before anything starts.
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Wednesday 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. We are closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
